New website

tranquilityyoga

So, I have a new website http://artoftheage.com .  I have leggings, yoga leggings, capris, tanks and more.  I am will be adding more things to it continually.  I am planning on art prints and new jewelry.  I am so excited to finally have a website again. I have been without one for three years now.  Time to move forward again with my life goals, which are numerous.  I have so many new ideas for artwork.  I wish there were more days in the week or perhaps I need a clone.

One day at a time, I am told, one day at a time.  Breathe and keep walking the path.  That’s the joy of life.

Love and Light,

Ellen

Getting back in the studio

I have been away for a long time and now I am where I can create again.
Setting up the studio yesterday was a step back toward being myself. I have
so many ideas for painting that it is hard to know where to start. I am inspired by many things. Nature is probably at the top of the list. I love doing abstracts but I want to explore some new territory. Portraits interest me a great deal. This painting is a visionary piece I did a few years ago. It is called Earth Spirit. More to come soon.

Art education and appreciation

I thought this article was also noteworthy. He has some valid points about people’s attitude toward art today. My feelings arethat taking time to look at and understand art is like stopping and smelling the roses. People need to take time to digest art, question it, feel it, etc. Are people geared to stop and consider art in this fast food, digitally geared world?

And so it is now a week since my Cassie passed away. She was almost 20 years young. Not bad. She was spunky and full of life up until the last couple of weeks. Her purr could be heard on the next block. She was one of those sweet, white and fluffy types. Her self-appointed positions included secretary extraordinare, wardrobe consultant and reliable alarm clock. She always performed these tasks well and with gusto.

So here is the picture I used to do her pet portrait:

And here is the portrait I did from it:

I still have her brother Thor. I hope he sticks around for a bit. Took this recently:

He’s a real sweetheart.

I am the fortunate one.

Landscape progress

Finally starting to look like a painting! I started this Plein Air and have wrestled with it ever since. Some paintings or drawings come more easily than others.

I just looked to see when I started this painting, omg, where did the time go. I went in February to a paint out with the Palm Beach Plein Air group. Maybe I will finish it this month!
